A very warm welcome to you, especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to our Worship Leaders who are leading our service this morning.

Please join us for refreshments in the Garling Room after the Service.

Prayer Ministry – if you would like a prayer for yourself or someone else, members of the prayer team will be available at the front of the Church after the morning service.

Recording Ministry – If you do not usually receive a DVD of our services please speak to Stephen Suthernwood or ring him on 01206 540988 to obtain a copy.


Prayer Requests – Rose & Peter Bobby, Charles & Florrie Cronin, Rita Moss, Kim & Ruth Ogden, Joan Rouse, Richard & May Walters and Robin Wilkinson.

Please pray for our Minister Revd Ruth Ridge and all those who minister to the people of God, especially this week for the Abbeyfield Community Project.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.


Grateful thanks to all who contributed to World and Home Missions. The total for World Church boxes was £203.31 and for Mission in Britain boxes £270.52, a fantastic overall increase on last year’s total of over a hundred pounds. Thank you again and God bless you all. Laurie

Methodist Prayer Handbook 2013-2014 – these will be ordered for all who purchased them last year. If you no longer want a copy please let Peter Bobby know as soon as possible. These are a useful daily prayer guide and priced at £3.50 each. Anyone else wishing to purchase a copy please let Peter know.

Beacon House – we are collecting for Beacon House throughout July. There is a box in the entrance vestibule for your donations of clothing, toiletries and food. Envelopes for money are also available. Thank you

Other Events

Summer Holiday Project 2013 – The Arts Award for young persons will be held at Lexden Methodist Church during July and August. Attendance is free but a contribution for outings would be appreciated. If you know of someone who would be interested please see Cicely. Further details are on the Notice Board.

A Day of Guided Prayer at St Leonard’s Church, Lexden on Saturday 10th August from 9:00am onwards. Please see notice board for details.

Summer Picnic on Saturday 17th August starting at 12 noon. Change of venue – this will now be held at the Manse Gardens West Bergholt. We are having a ‘bring & share meal’. Our friends at Marks Tey are bringing the sweets and puddings so please can we provide savouries. Everyone is welcome and if you need a lift please let one of the stewards know.
