Romance Academy are visiting Colchester on Saturday 25thFebruary at Plume Avenue Church. The event consists of two sessions. An afternoon session called ‘Lets Talk about Sex’ for parents, youth workers, church leaders and educators, followed by an evening session for young people in years 7-13 called ‘Attraction’. The evening session will be a fun and informative session aimed at helping young people build healthy relationships and consider their own choices around the area of relationships. Women’s World Day of Prayer – there will be a service at West Bergholt Methodist Church on Friday 3rd March at 1:30pm preceded by a soup and snack lunch at 12:30pm. It is written by the women of Philippines and the theme will be ‘Am I being unfair to you?’

Colchester Chamber Choir – ‘Song of Songs’. Settings by Palestrina, Guerrero, Victoria, Lassus and others with jazz guitar improvisations by internationally acclaimed guitarist Chris Allard at St Peter ad Vincula, Coggeshall on Sunday 19th March 2017 at 7:00pm. Colchester Overcomers are planning to run a Christian 12-step program called "The Recovery Course" to facilitate people in Colchester becoming free from addictions. eg: Gambling, porn, social media, alcohol, over-eating etc. They are seeking assistance from other Christians in Colchester with experience of overcoming addiction through a 12-step program. Opportunity to sing at this year’s Good Friday service at Mercury Theatre Cantus Firmus choir will be singing this year. Singers do NOT have to be members of this choir already. World Mission Fund – you should have been given an envelope for this as you entered and if not please collect one from the bookcase in the entrance vestibule. This is a Methodist Church initiative which supports projects and individuals around the world. Please can you return them next week for the Covenant Service or the following week.

Epiphany Lunch next Saturday – don’t forget to add your name to the list on the notice board if you are coming.

Christmas Cards – as usual we are encouraging our congregation to send just one card to everyone at Lexden Methodist Church rather than individual cards and donate the money saved to charity. The notice board in the Garling Room has been cleared for these and there is a box for donations to the East Anglian Children’s Hospices.
