Easter Offering envelope, please can they be added to the offertory bag today. Please note if you are contributing by cheque can you make this payable to Lexden Methodist Church – not as stated on the envelope – this is to ensure the gift aid can be added. The Easter Offering service will take place on 3rd May.

The funeral service for Roz Carrington will take place at Lexden Methodist Church on Wednesday 8th April at 10:30am followed by the burial at St Albright’s Church. The family have invited us to join them afterwards.
Please leave the car park clear for family. Thank you.

Roof Cleaning will take place all day on Thursday 9th April. Midweek prayer time will still go ahead but we will not be able to use the car park.

Maundy Thursday – 2nd April at 10am Agapé Love Feast Sheila’s house. Thank you, Sheila.

Easter Offering envelope – if you haven’t already received one, please take one today. Please can they be returned next week during our Easter Day service. Please note if you are contributing by cheque can you make this payable to Lexden Methodist Church – not as stated on the envelope – this is to ensure the gift aid can be added. Tea and Coffee – it has been suggested we have tea and coffee after every service, not just Communion. To ensure this duty does not fall on just one couple we would need volunteers to share the work. If you are able to help please speak with Geoff or Avril.

World Day of Prayer on Friday 6th March at St Mary’s Church, West Bergholt starting with a soup lunch at 1pm followed by the service at 2pm.

Circuit Together Day – “Shaped by God” with a focus on Psalm 139. Saturday 7th March 10am to 2:30pm at Mersea Methodist Church. Please bring your own lunch and share in fun, fellowship and worship. It would help the organisers if they know how many are attending so, please add your name to the list on the notice board.

Quiz Night at Mersea Methodist Church on Saturday 14th March at 6:30pm with a supper of jacket potatoes. Donations to the property fund. Please contact Ann Brook if you are attending.

The Methodist District would like to know what we have done to our premises to make them more energy efficient in the hope of encouraging and inspiring other churches. PRAYER

Please pray for our church friends who can no longer join us on a Sunday.

Please pray for our Ministers – Rev Chris Preece and Rev Hannah Chun. Also pray for our Anna Chaplain Jastine Diaz.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

Christmas on the Circuit – there are a lot of events taking place during December in the Colchester Methodist Circuit. They are all listed on the notice board in the Garling Room. Please take a moment to see if there are any you would like to attend.

Carol Service at Lexden on 21st December. If you have a hymn or a particular reading or poem you would like to share with us on this Sunday, please let Alan or Christine know today so that we can plan the service. We will be having mince pies with tea and coffee after the service. We are very grateful to Avril and Nigel for providing the teas and coffees throughout the year.

Christmas Day – there will be a united service at Castle Methodist Church at 10:30am. Please note we will not be having a service here at Lexden on Christmas day.

Circuit Service on Sunday 28th December at Wimpole Road Methodist Church.

Sunday Services on DVD – If you, or anyone you know, would like a copy of our Sunday morning service on DVD please speak with Geoff or one of the stewards.

Midweek Prayer Time – every Thursday. A short service of prayer and reflection. Everyone is welcome.
