LEXDEN METHODIST CHURCH
Notices for Week Commencing 15th February 2026
“This is my son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
Matthew 17 v 5
We offer you a very warm welcome especially if you are a visitor and to those who will be watching the DVD during the week and to Rev Hannah Chun who is leading our worship with Holy Communion this morning.
PRAYER
Please pray for our church friends who can no longer join us on a Sunday.
Please pray for our Ministers – Rev Chris Preece and Rev Hannah Chun. Also pray for our Anna Chaplain Jastine Diaz.
Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.
NOTICES
Our very dear friend Roz Carrington sadly passed away in the early hours of Monday morning. Please keep her family in your prayers at this sad time.
Messy Vintage arranged by Jastine Diaz will take place at Alderwood Care Home on Monday 16th February at 2:30pm and at Woodland View Care Home on Wednesday 25th February at 2:30pm. If you are able to help please call Jastine on 07836394364.
World Day of Prayer on Friday 6th March at St Mary’s Church, West Bergholt starting with a soup lunch at 1pm followed by the service at 2pm.
Circuit Together Day – “Shaped by God” with a focus on Psalm 139. Saturday 7th March 10am to 2:30pm at Mersea Methodist Church. Please bring your own lunch and share in fun, fellowship and worship. It would help the organisers if they know how many are attending so, please add your name to the list on the notice board.
The Methodist District would like to know what we have done to our premises to make them more energy efficient in the hope of encouraging and inspiring other churches. David Chapman has agreed to support this by offering a £250 prize for the most inspiring story and two runners up prizes of £150 each from District funds.
Maundy Thursday – 2nd April at 10am we will hold our Love Feast again this year and Sheila has offered to host it at her house. Thank you, Sheila. We can arrange lifts for all those who require them and car sharing might be a good idea as well. Please speak with Alan or Christine and we will act as co-ordinators.
Link to Hope – thank you once again to everyone who contributed to this worthwhile shoebox appeal. It has been suggested that we collect items throughout the year to help spread the cost. For example: – 1 Cutlery, 2 Lavender bag or other sensory gift, 3 Socks, 4 Hot water bottle, 5 Pen and paper, 6 Reading glasses, 7 Gloves, 8 Boiled sweets, 9 Soap and flannel, 10 Toothbrush and toothpaste. Plus, knitted knee blankets 1m x 1m always appreciated and handed out with each box. We have a cupboard in the vestry to store donations. Many thanks for the items already donated.
Sunday Services on DVD – If you, or anyone you know, would like a copy of our Sunday morning service on DVD please speak with Geoff or one of the stewards.
Midweek Prayer Time – every Thursday. A short service of prayer and reflection. Everyone is welcome.
