The Methodist Prayer Handbook for 2018/2019 – there are some still available. Priced at £4 each with any profit going to church funds. Please place your money in the box provided or see Christine Beesley.

Harvest Festival is on Sunday 30th September at 11am and as usual we will be collecting for the Colchester Food Bank. There is a box in the entrance vestibule for your donations of tins of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables etc. Also rice, pasta, biscuits and cereals – please make sure they have a long shelf life. As well as these they would appreciate cleaning products and hygiene items. Thank you.

Harvest Lunch is straight after the morning service. Please add your name to the list on the notice board if you are staying for lunch. Cars will be available after lunch for those wishing to go to the West Bergholt farewell service at 4pm.

Recognition Service for Alan Beesley and Rachel Allen as local preachers will be on Sunday 21st October at 6:30pm at The Ark Highwoods. Transport will be available for everyone who wants to attend. Please see Alan or Christine

Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Appeal – leaflets and boxes are now available. If you are unable to fill a box but would still like to contribute there is a box for your donations and envelopes if you would like to offer money. Many thanks.

Quiz night on Saturday at 7pm and then a Celebration Service led by Rev Ken Chalmers at 4pm on Sunday followed by refreshments in the Hall. More details on the poster on the notice board.

Colchester Methodist Circuit Study Event Saturday 13th October at The Ark, Highwoods from 9:30am to 1pm. ‘Living Together in the Light of Covenant’. There is a ‘sign-up’ sheet on the notice board if you are interested in going and the deadline for registration is 7th October.

Seeking God’s Blessing for Colchester invite us to share Holy Communion on St Helena’s day – Saturday 18th August – at 9am at the site of the Roman Chapel next to the Police Station on the Maldon Road roundabout. The service will be led by the Bishop of Colchester. Refreshments afterwards will be served at the new Beacon House in Crouch Street.

Colchester Churches Family Fun Festival at Lower Castle Park on Saturday 15th September from 11am to 4pm. Free entry.

Mission Shaped Ministry – a one year part-time learning journey available in the Colchester area starting on Saturday 22nd September. Please see the notice board for further information, contact details and booking form.

Farewell Celebration for West Bergholt Methodist Church on the weekend of 29th and 30th September. More details to follow nearer the time.

A very warm welcome to you especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us during the week through the Recording Ministry and to Jo Eckersley who is leading our worship this morning.
