Church Walk on 5 June please meet 11 Musk Close at 1:30pm or the car park near Eight Ash Green cricket club at 1.45pm (left past the Cricketers pub and then on the left). Leaflet available at back of Church. Speak to Avril or Nigel if any queries.

Coffee Morning – it has been suggested that instead of Bring and Buy we hold a Game’s Meeting on the first Saturday of the month. We could have board games like Scrabble and Chess and card games like Bridge and Canasta. Please let Sheila or Christine know if you would be interested in this.

If you are able to host one of our Coffee Mornings please add your name to the list on the notice board.

Coffee Morning with Bring and Buy on Saturday 2nd June 10:00 to 11:30am. This month’s charity is Action for Children.

Thy Kingdom Come 2018 has been launched by the Archbishop of Canterbury. This is a worldwide, ecumenical prayer movement calling on all Christians to pray that people might come to know Jesus Christ. Between Ascension Day and Pentecost from Thursday 10th to Sunday 20th May 2018 please use this prayer which thousands of people across the world will be praying.

Almighty God, your ascended Son has sent us into the world to preach the good news of your kingdom: inspire us with your Spirit and fill our hearts with the fire of your love, that all who hear your Word may be drawn to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

MakeLunch is a charity which provides free hot meals for children in need during school holidays. They are looking for volunteers for the summer holidays at Lexden Primary School in Nelson Road. If you are interested in helping or know anyone who would be please speak to Christine B. Thank you.

Colchester Borough and Parish Elections on Thursday 3rd May will see our church being used as a Polling Station. Although Morning Prayer will be held as usual there will not be any Time for Tots on this day.

Easter Day

Introit ‘Jesus Stand Among Us’ H&P 530 v 1

We offer you a very warm welcome especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us during the week through the Recording Ministry and to Rev Sue King who is leading our worship with Holy Communion this morning.

Please stay for refreshments afterwards in the Garling Room.

NOTICES

Those of us who attended the Passover Meal on Maundy Thursday would like to thank those who organised it. An enjoyable and thought provoking evening.

There is a card from Chris Nash on the notice board sending us Easter blessings.

Easter Offering envelopes – if you didn’t collect one last week please do so today. Please can these be returned over the next two weeks. Don’t forget to complete the Gift Aid declaration if you are a tax payer.

The first Coffee Morning with Bring and Buy of the year will be held on Saturday 7th April 10:00 to 11:30am. We are collecting for Age Concern Colchester.

Lent Course 2018 on Friday afternoons here at Lexden at 2:30pm. Due to the snow part 6 ‘Keeping Going’ will now be held on Friday 13th April.

Colchester Borough and Parish Elections on Thursday 3rd May will see our church being used as a Polling Station. Although Morning Prayer will be held as usual there will not be any Time for Tots on this day.

Passover Meal on Maundy Thursday 29th March at 6:30pm. A simple meal to commemorate the final supper led by Rev Paul Howes. Please add your name to the list on the notice board if you are able to come.

Lent Course 2018 on Friday afternoons here at Lexden at 2:30pm. Part 6 ‘Keeping Going’ will be held on Friday 13th April.

We are collecting for Beacon House throughout March. They urgently need deodorant, tinned vegetables, mayonnaise/ketchup, detergent and men’s cotton boxer shorts in small and medium as well as all their normal requirements. There is a box in the entrance vestibule for your donations.

Good Friday Walk of Witness following the cross through Colchester town centre organised by Seeking God’s Blessing for Colchester. Meet at Essex Street, off Headgate, at 11:45am.

Good Friday at the Mercury Theatre ‘Poured Out For Many’. Led by Seeking God’s Blessing for Colchester with guest Speaker Rev Lynsey Heslegrave. Friday 30th March at 7:30pm. Admission free with a retiring offering.

Easter Sunday – ‘Son Rise’ communion by the lake behind the Tollgate Manse at 6:15am.
