Notices 24 March 2019

LEXDEN METHODIST CHURCH

Notices for Week Commencing 24th March 2019

Introit ‘Teach Me, My God and King’ H&P 803 v 1

A very warm welcome to you especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us during the week through the Recording Ministry and to Brian Clow who is leading our worship this morning.

This Evening – 6:30pm – Contemporary Worship

Recording Ministry – if you do not normally receive a DVD of our services please speak to one of the stewards to obtain a copy.

PRAYER

Prayer Requests – Please remember all those on our prayer list.

Please pray for our Ministers Rev Paul Howes, Rev Ken Chalmers and especially Rev Alan Jenkins who has just completed the last of his chemotherapy treatment.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

Note from Geoff – Church Treasurer- I have been looking at our likely costs of running the Church in the next year. I estimate that after allowing for possible income from Lettings & Gift Aid Tax refund our costs will be in the order of £18,500. To avoid drawing on our reserves this amount needs to be met from our collection income. Assuming that we have 30 regular people attending and contributing via the collection, collection envelopes or monthly bank contributions this equates to £11.80 per person each week. If there are only 25 people involved then the figure increases to £14.20 per person per week. Please may I request that everyone reviews their level of giving to the Church. If you can donate via Gift Aid then talk with Bill Harber to get details. If you wish to join the Envelope regular giving scheme (Gift Aiding not essential) please talk with Janet Bloxam.

Donate for Lent – rather than give something up for Lent why not give something away instead. Every Sunday in Lent there is a box in the entrance vestibule for donations of soup for the Colchester soup run.
