NOTICES

The funeral service for Rosalind Hampshire will be held here at Lexden on Wednesday 6th March at 10:15am. Extra parking will be available at Praiseway Church and refreshments will be served there after the burial.

We are having a new boiler installed on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th February. Therefore Friendly Tea Club has been cancelled and our car park must be kept clear for the workmen.

Church Council Meeting Thursday 14th March. Please can all those with reports to write make sure a copy is sent to Viv Wilcox before the end of February. Thank you.

Songs of Praise at Fingringhoe Methodist Church this afternoon at 3pm.

World Day of Prayer (no longer described as Women’s – open to all) at West Bergholt on Friday March 1st. All are very welcome to join in. This will be a joint service with our Anglican friends from St. Mary’s and will take place at St. Mary’s Church, New Church Road, CO6 3JZ. There will be a Soup’n Snack Lunch at 12.30pm in St. Mary’s Hall, with the Service at 1.30pm.

Daffodil Day on Monday 4th March at Methodist Central Hall. A coach will be available with local pick-ups.

Better Together – Circuit Activity Day and Circuit Service. Planning workshop on Saturday 27th April at The Ark from 10am to 4pm to reflect on our opportunities, plan our priorities and share our resources. Circuit Service at Castle on Sunday 28th April at 11am.

DO YOU LOVE SINGING? Come and join Colchester’s BIG Sing! We welcome all singers, you do not have to be pitch-perfect, maybe you just like singing in the shower. Whatever your reasons for coming, you will find that we are one big happy family, uniting together to sing positive and uplifting songs. Sessions cost £7.00 per week pay as you go. No joining fees or termly commitments. We meet Mondays at the Kingsland Church (above Aldi) from 7-9pm. We look forward to seeing you.
We also have our LITTLE Sing choir for primary school ages (5-11yrs), just £4.00 a week PAYG!!

Prayer Changes Things – prayer service at Castle Methodist Church at 9:30am to 10:00am on Saturday 5th January led by Jane Dansie.

Circuit Event – As a circuit it feels like we are experiencing a limitation of resources like never before, but at the same time there are exciting opportunities opening up to us. Together, and together with God, we can make the most of these possibilities to continue God’s work.
On the 19th January 2019 we will meet at the Ark for a day-long workshop (10am to 4pm) to identify what our circuit priorities might be and to look at how we might work Better Together to be fruitful in God’s mission.
This exploration and celebration of our shared place in God’s work will conclude with a circuit service on Sunday 20th January at 11am at Castle.

PRAYER

Prayer Requests – Please remember all those on our prayer list.

Please pray for our Ministers Rev Paul Howes, Rev Ken Chalmers and especially Rev Alan Jenkins who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.
