We offer you a very warm welcome, especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to Brian Llewellyn who is leading our worship this morning.

Please join us for refreshments in the Garling Room after the Service.

Prayer Ministry – if you would like a prayer for yourself or someone else, members of the prayer team will be available at the front of the Church after the morning service.

Recording Ministry – If you do not usually receive a DVD of our services please speak to Stephen Suthernwood or ring him on 01206 540988 to obtain a copy.


Prayer Requests – Rose & Peter Bobby, Charles & Florrie Cronin, Brian – the son of Cicely Kentish-Sawyer, Ruth (having surgery tomorrow) & Kim Ogden, Pam Redding, Joan Rouse, Richard & May Walters and Robin Wilkinson.

Please pray for our Minister Revd Ruth Ridge and all those who minister to the people of God, especially this week for Mersea Methodist Church.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.


Coffee Morning with Bring & Buy this coming Saturday 7th September starting at 10am. This month we are collecting for World Church and Mission in Britain. Please come along and support this very worthwhile enterprise.

Alan & Christine Beesley are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their granddaughter. Their daughter Angela and Hazel Elaine are both doing well.

Gift Aid Declarations – Bill will be asking those of you who have currently made a declaration in favour of the church, to sign and date a new declaration. This is necessary to fully comply with the latest HMRC wording requirements. Whilst the previous declarations were registered and held at Methodist Church House, London; the new ones will be held by each church.

Offerings for last Sunday: £248.10

Friendly Tea Club – with the imminent departure of Mo and David Beale we are hoping for at least one more volunteer to help run the Tuesday afternoon tea club. This is always well attended and enjoyed by everyone who comes. Please see Alan if you feel able to help or would like more information.

Eight Ash Green Methodist Church presents the Justin Jay Band playing 60s music on Friday 6th September starting at 8:00pm. Tickets £6.00. See poster on notice board for more information

Circuit Welcome Service to Alan and Janet Jenkins on Sunday 8th September at 6:30pm at Wimpole Road Methodist Church.

The next evening in the series of “What about our Society” is at 7:30pm on 10th September at the GO4 Café in Trinity Church, Colchester. The focus is on education in our borough and you will have an opportunity to hear from and pray for those involved in education. Open the Book will be leading the devotions. See notice board for further information.

Light a Candle Service – a service for all who have lost loved ones. Thursday 7th November at 7:30pm at West Bergholt Methodist Church.
