We offer you a very warm welcome especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to Ron Firmin who is leading our worship this morning.

Please join us for refreshments in the Garling Room after the Service.

Prayer Ministry – if you would like a prayer for yourself or someone else, please speak with one of the Stewards after the morning service.

Recording Ministry – If you do not usually receive a DVD of our services please speak to Stephen Suthernwood or ring him on 01206 540988 to obtain a copy.

PRAYER

Prayer Requests: Rose & Peter Bobby, Dorothy Cardey, Charles Cronin, Barbara Duller, Emily Grote, Kim Ogden (in hospital) and Ruth, Joan Rouse, Richard & May Walters and Robin Wilkinson.

Please pray for our Minister Revd Ruth Ridge and all those who minister to the people of God, especially this week for Wivenhoe Methodist Church.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

General Notices

Lexden Link – Autumn edition available now. Please remember to take a copy.

Harvest Festival – this will be next week on Sunday 28th September. We will be collectingitems for the Colchester Food Bank. There is a box in the vestibule for your contributions or envelopes are available if you would like to make a money donation. These can be brought in next week as well.

Harvest Tea – Sunday 12th October at 4:30pm. This will be followed by Songs of Praise at 6:30pm. Please add your name to the list on the notice board if you will be coming for the Tea.

Tea & Coffee Rota – We could still do with some extra help after the Sunday services with making tea and coffee. Please see Alan if you can help.

Embroidery Exhibition at West Bergholt Methodist Church on Saturday 27th September from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Donations to Action for Children.

Wimpole Road Methodist Church invite you to their Open Church and Flower Festival on Sunday 28th September from 2:00 to 4:30pm in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cre8 10th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday 4th October at 3pm at Plume Avenue Church. Cre8 will present some dance and lead some prayers. The Cantus Firmus Choir will be contributing as well. See poster on notice board.

Quiz Night at West Bergholt on Saturday 4th October. 7pm start. Please phone Judith Fletcher on 241969 to book your table – £16 for a four person team.

International Justice Mission are running an Advocacy Training Day for all who are interested in the issue of justice. This will take place at Christ Church, Colchester on Saturday 11th October from 10:00am to 4:15pm. Further information is on the Notice Board.

My Hope UK with Billy Graham – encouragement morning with Billy Graham Evangelist Association UK on Thursday 16th October from 11:00 to 13:30 at Norwich Central Baptist Church, Duke Street, Norwich.
