Harvest Festival

Notices for Week Commencing 27th September 2015

INTROIT – ‘Spirit of the Living God’ SoF 511

A very warm welcome to you especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to Geoff and Vivian Wilcox who are leading our Harvest Festival worship this morning.

Refreshments will be served in the Garling Room after the service.

Recording Ministry – If you do not usually receive a DVD of our services please speak to Stephen Suthernwood or ring him on 01206 540988 to obtain a copy.


Prayer Requests – Peter Bobby,Dorothy Cardey, Chris Chester, Gerald Daldry, Barbara Duller, Emily Grote, Eileen Mitchell, Joan Rouse and May Walters.

Please pray for our Ministers Revd Alan Jenkins and Revd Ken Chalmers and all those who minister to the people of God.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

General Notices

A very big thank you to everyone involved in making the Harvest Fish and Chip Lunch so enjoyable. All profits will be going to the Colchester Food Bank along with our donations from our Harvest Festival.

Lexden Link – copies of the Autumn 2015 edition are still available. If you have not picked up your copy yet make sure you take one today.

Coffee Morning with Bring and Buy this coming Saturday will be raising funds for the Women’s Refuge. Everyone welcome.

Offerings last Sunday: £298.50

Calling all dressmakers do you have any original Dewhurst Sylko wood cotton reels hidden at the bottom of your sewing basket? With or without thread just so long as they still have the original label; they are needed by the Touchstone Centre to help raise much needed funds. Please see the information sheet on the notice board about this Methodist supported community.

Other Events

Lunchtime Worship at Castle Methodist Church at 1pm every Thursday.

The Circuit Social Issues Group has arranged a hot meal at Highwoods Church followed by a talk on “Multi Faith” by Mrs Barbara Butler, wife of the former Bishop of Southwark, and founder and Executive Secretary of “Christians Aware”. This will be on Thursday 8th October. There will be a charge of £5.
