Church Anniversary

You are very warmly welcome especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to Jane Allison who is leading our worship this morning.

Refreshments will be served in the Garling Room after the service.

Prayer Requests: Dorothy Cardey – in St Fillans Care Home, Chris Chester, Gerald Daldry, Barbara Duller, Emily Grote, Eileen Mitchell, Joan Rouse and May Walters.

Please pray for our Ministers Revd Ken Chalmers and Revd Alan Jenkins and all those who minister to the people of God.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

General Notices

Ladies Friendly Circle on Monday 9th November is an open meeting so men are invited as well. The guest speaker will be Robin Orbell – Chairman of the Bench, Colchester Magistrates Court – talking about ‘A View from the Bench’.

Beacon House – we will be collecting throughout November. They would love clothing, toiletries and food. There is a box in the vestibule for your donations.

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal – many thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. Last day for boxes and any other contribution will be Sunday 15th November when they will be blessed during the service before starting their journey.

Offerings last Sunday: £337.00

Calling all dressmakers do you have any original Dewhurst Sylko wood cotton reels hidden at the bottom of your sewing basket? With or without thread just so long as they still have the original label; they are needed by the Touchstone Centre to help raise much needed funds. Please see the information sheet on the notice board about this Methodist supported community.

Other Events

Lunchtime Worship at Castle Methodist Church at 1pm every Thursday.

Light a Candle Service at West Bergholt Methodist Church on Wednesday 11th November at 7:30pm will be led by Alan Beesley. This is a service of remembrance and reflection for those we have loved and lost. All are welcome. Please let Alan or Christine know if you need a lift.

Taizé Evening at St John’s Church, Iceni Way on Thursday 26th November 7:00 – to 8:00pm followed by refreshments.
