A very warm welcome to you especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to our members who are leading our worship this morning.

Refreshments will be served in the Garling Room after the Service.

Prayer Requests – Chris Chester, Gerald Daldry, Barbara Duller, Maud & Frank Faircloth, Emily Grote, Eileen Mitchell and Joan Rouse.

Please pray for our Ministers Revd Paul Howes, Revd Alan Jenkins, Revd Ken Chalmers and Revd Steve Swann and all those who minister to the people of God.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone who needs our prayers.

Our Harvest Festival will be on Sunday 9th October starting with lunch, 12:30 for a 1pm sit-down, followed by a church service at 3pm in which children will be invited to take part. Please add your name to the list on the notice board if you will be here for lunch. Don’t forget we will not be having our normal morning service on this day or an evening Songs of Praise. Our harvest donations of food and money will be going to the Colchester Food Bank. There is a box for these in the entrance vestibule.

The flowers in the Church and the Garling Room this morning are from the Service of Thanksgiving that was held here for Peter Bobby last Friday.His family have expressed thanks for all the cards, calls and prayers they have received. They are happy in the thought that Peter is reunited with his beloved Rosie.

Shoe Boxes – we will be collecting for Operation Christian Child again. You can wrap a shoe box with Christmas paper or we have some boxes ready-made. If you do not feel able to fill a box please bring in what you can.

Other Events

Circuit Activity Day on Saturday 22nd October from 9:30am to 4:00pm – lunch will be provided – at The Ark Methodist Church, Highwoods. Please see the poster on the notice board for more information.

Circuit Service at Wivenhoe on Sunday 30th October at 11:00am will be led by Chair of District Revd David Chapman. During the service Brian Dack will be accepted as a fully accredited Local Preacher. All churches in our circuit have been invited to join in and this means we will not have a service here that Sunday. Transport will be available for those who wish to attend.

Quire presents a selection of songs from their extensive African repertory in aid of the charity Beacon of Hope on Saturday 5th November at 7:30pm at Wivenhoe Congregational Church.
