A very warm welcome to you especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us during the week through the Recording Ministry and to Rev Paul Howes who is leading our worship with Holy Communion this morning.

Please stay for refreshments afterwards in the Garling Room.

Prayer Requests – Please remember all those on our prayer list.

Please pray for our Ministers Rev Paul Howes, Rev Alan Jenkins and Rev Ken Chalmers and all those who minister to the people of God.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

John Hampshire would like to thank everyone for the cards and best wishes he received when celebrating his 90th birthday. Our love to you always John.

We have heard from Chris Nash who sends regards to everyone.

The Methodist Prayer Handbook for 2018/2019 – and there are some still available. Priced at £4 each with any profit going to church funds. Please place your money in the box provided or see Christine Beesley.

Harvest Festival is on Sunday 30th September at 11am and as usual we will be collecting for the Colchester Food Bank. There is a box in the entrance vestibule for your donations of tins of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables etc. Also rice, pasta, biscuits and cereals – please make sure they have a long shelf life. As well as these they would appreciate cleaning products and hygiene items. Thank you.

Harvest Lunch is straight after the morning service. Please add your name to the list on the notice board if you are staying for lunch. Cars will be available after lunch for those wishing to attend the West Bergholt farewell service at 4pm.

The Sunday Morning Tea/Coffee rota for the next quarter is available in the vestibule. Many thanks to all those volunteers.

Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Appeal – leaflets and boxes will soon be available.

Other Events

Colchester Churches Family Fun Festival at Lower Castle Park on Saturday 15th September from 11am to 4pm. Live music and a tea tent. Free entry.

Fingringhoe Songs of Praise on Sunday 16th September.

Farewell Celebration for West Bergholt Methodist Church over the weekend of 29th and 30th September. The Church and Hall will be open both days from 2 to 6pm with photos and other memorabilia. Quiz night on Saturday at 7pm and then a Celebration Service led by Rev Ken Chalmers at 4pm on Sunday followed by refreshments in the Hall. More details on the poster on the notice board.
