Message from Rev Ken Chalmers:-
Who are our natural evangelists – or who could be?
Who among us could inspire us all to share our faith stories?
Which of us naturally draws people to Jesus – or would like to be able to?
The theme of this year’s Presidential address at conference was sharing our stories. It’s something that seems to come less naturally to us these days and yet it’s vital to the work that we are called to.
How can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14-15)
The district are offering us the chance to become involved in a national initiative to inspire and equip us all to share our faith stories and build up the community of faith. This district event will take place at Haverhill on Saturday 9th November and each circuit has been asked to nominate just TWO volunteers to take part and to come back and share what they have learned with the rest of us (the Circuit Leadership Team and staff team will assist with this, so please don’t be put off).
If you would be willing and enthusiastic to take up this opportunity please speak with Christine Beesley – or directly with Ken by Sunday 8th September.
