LEXDEN METHODIST CHURCH

Notices for Week Commencing 19th September 2021

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.– John 3 v 16

We offer you a very warm welcome especially if you are a visitor and we welcome Viv Wilcox who is leading our Easter Offering Service this morning.

PRAYER

Prayer Requests – Please keep Bill and family in your prayers.

Please pray for our Circuit Ministers Rev Joe Adams, Rev Ken Chalmers and Rev Alan Jenkins.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

Easter Offering – A very big thank you to everyone who has already returned their envelope. Today is the last day they can be returned.

Harvest Festival – even during lockdown we managed a couple of really successful collections for the Food Bank. Our Harvest Festival will be held on 26th September so it would be nice if we could achieve those results again. They need tinned and packaged food, toiletries, cleaning products and sanitary items. Also, because Colchester has agreed to take in some of the Afghan Refugees, we would like to make a donation to Refugee Action Colchester if anyone would like to offer money as part of our Harvest celebration.

Muriel’s Funeral will take place on Tuesday 12th October here at Lexden at 10:30am followed by the burial at St Albright’s at 11:30am. All are welcome to attend although we may have to use the Garling Room as an overflow.

Covid Regulations – You must sign in on arrival or use the QR code. For the safety of visiting preachers, as well as our congregation, we are still following social distancing guidelines and everyone must sanitise their hands and wear a facemask at all times. If we have too many people attending we may have to use the Garling Room as an overflow. Please do not congregate in the entrance or when exiting. Please follow the one-way system and exit by the fire door at the front of the building. We are unable to provide tea and coffee at the moment.

Morning Prayer Time – every Thursday at 9:30am. Please sign-in as you enter and collect a prayer card.

Circuit Service on DVD – If you, or anyone you know, would like a copy of the circuit service please speak with Geoff Wilcox or one of the stewards.

Visitors
If you are visiting us for the first time please add your name to our Visitor’s Book which is on the bookcase in the entrance vestibule. Many thanks.
