A very warm welcome to you all especially if you are a visitor and to those who will be watching the DVD during the week and to Rev Hannah Chun who is leading our harvest festival worship with Holy Communion this morning.

Please pray for our Ministers – Rev Chris Preece and Rev Hannah Chun.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

Songs of Praise Sunday 29th September. If you have any hymns, poems or readings you would like to share please let Christine know as soon as possible.

Methodist Prayer Handbook 2024/2025 is now available. This contains details of the lectionary readings and prayers for every day of the year. Copies are £4.65 each.

Harvest Festival – a very big thank you for your donations. These will be going to the food bank during the week.

The Bridgeway Hub provides support for asylum seekers and they have requested donations of men’s clothing – particularly coats, jackets, anoraks, t-shirts, trousers and socks. These can be delivered to the Bridgeway shop in Priory Walk.

Mersea Harvest Weekend – 28th and 29th September. Harvest Supper on Saturday at 6:30pm followed by “Call My Bluff”. Contact Ann Brookes.

Contemplative Worship – From Brokenness to Beauty. A Circuit Service led by Rev Chris and Rev Hannah on Sunday 29th September at 6:30pm at The Ark, Highwoods.

Church Council Meeting – Wednesday 9th October at 2pm. Everyone welcome.

Christmas Giving – it has been suggested we give to ‘Link to Hope’ shoebox appeal this year. It is not necessary to fill a shoebox, although it makes it more personal if you can, there is a list of items you can provide for a family or an elderly person. We have some leaflets available and will provide more information soon.

Sunday Services on DVD – If you, or anyone you know, would like a copy of our Sunday morning service on DVD please speak with Geoff or one of the stewards.

Midweek Prayer Time – every Thursday. A short service of prayer and reflection. Everyone welcome.
