Please pray for our Ministers – Rev Chris Preece and Rev Hannah Chun.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

Our very dear friend Chris Nash sadly passed away a few days ago. By God’s grace she has been reunited with Hu. Her funeral will take place at St Faith’s Crematorium near Norwich on 29th August at 1:30pm. Please keep her family in your prayers during this time.

August Songs of Praise will be on Sunday 31st August (fifth Sunday). Please let Alan or Christine know if you there is a hymn you would like or if you have a reading or bible passage you would like to share.

Methodist Prayer Handbook 2025/2026. Copies are available on the table in the entrance priced at £4.65 each.

Our Harvest Festival will be celebrated on Sunday 21st September with a service of Holy Communion led by Rev Hannah Chun. We shall be collecting for the Colchester Food Bank – food, toiletries or money. Thank you.

Message from Rev Chris Preece – I’m delighted (and very excited) to let you know that we have appointed an Anna Chaplain for the Circuit. Following the interviews, Mr Jastine Diaz will be joining the Circuit (subject to the successful completion of the statutory pre-employment checks). We are hoping for a 1st September start date, or as soon as possible thereafter. Jastine knows Colchester well and has good experience of working with older people. We are looking forward to getting to know him better and to share in this really important and significant moment for the Circuit as we continue to journey together with God. Please keep Jastine and the Circuit in your prayers at this time as we look ahead to this exciting time for us all.

The Best of Christianity – ‘The Summer of 25’. Please see the poster on the notice board detailing these events at St Peter’s Chapel, Bradwell-on-Sea. Chair of district, Rev Dr David Chapman will be leading the Methodist service on Sunday 17 August 2025 at 6pm, music will be provided by a small group led by Rev Steve Mayo from the Southend & Leigh Circuit.

Midweek Prayer Time – every Thursday. A short service of prayer and reflection. Everyone welcome.
