LEXDEN METHODIST CHURCH

Notices for Week Commencing 29th March 2026
Palm Sunday

“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”.
Luke 19 v 38

A very warm welcome to you all especially if you are a visitor and to those who will be watching the DVD during the week and to Rev Hannah Chun who is leading our worship with Holy Communion this morning.

PRAYER

Please pray for our Ministers – Rev Chris Preece and Rev Hannah Chun. Also pray for our Anna Chaplain Jastine Diaz.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

The Way of the Cross – a reflection in words and music. On Palm Sunday, 29th March, at Castle Methodist Church at 6:30pm. With Cantus Firmin Choir and guest speaker Rev Chris Preece. There are a lot of circuit events during Holy Week and they are listed on the notice board in the Garling Room.

Maundy Thursday – 2nd April at 10am Agapé Love Feast Sheila’s house. Thank you, Sheila.

Easter Offering envelope – if you haven’t already received one, please take one today. Please can they be returned next week during our Easter Day service. Please note if you are contributing by cheque can you make this payable to Lexden Methodist Church – not as stated on the envelope – this is to ensure the gift aid can be added. The Easter Offering service will take place on 3rd May.

Tea and Coffee – it has been suggested we have tea and coffee after every service, not just Communion. To ensure this duty does not fall on just one couple we would need volunteers to share the work. If you are able to help please speak with Geoff or Avril.

The funeral service for Roz Carrington will take place at Lexden Methodist Church on Wednesday 8th April at 10:30am followed by the burial at St Albright’s Church. The family have invited us to join them afterwards.

Link to Hope – thank you once again to everyone who contributed to this worthwhile shoebox appeal. It has been suggested that we collect items throughout the year to help spread the cost. For example: – 1 Cutlery, 2 Lavender bag or other sensory gift, 3 Socks, 4 Hot water bottle, 5 Pen and paper, 6 Reading glasses, 7 Gloves, 8 Boiled sweets, 9 Soap and flannel, 10 Toothbrush and toothpaste. Plus, knitted knee blankets 1m x 1m always appreciated and handed out with each box. We have a cupboard in the vestry to store donations. Many thanks for the items already donated.

Sunday Services on DVD – If you, or anyone you know, would like a copy of our Sunday morning service on DVD please speak with Geoff or one of the stewards.

Midweek Prayer Time – every Thursday. A short service of prayer and reflection. Everyone is welcome.
