Friendly Tea Club have a guest speaker from Independent Age (advice and support for older age) on Tuesday 2nd May. This will be an open meeting to which everyone is invited. Tea and biscuits will be served.

Ladies Friendly Circle will bevisiting the Colne Valley Railway on Monday 8th May. They will be leaving the church at 6.45 pm. Please let Chrissie know if you will be coming.

This event will explore the roots of social justice and action within the Methodist Church and how we might move on in the future. Free Family Fun Day arranged by Seeking God’s Blessing for Colchester will be held in the Lower Castle Park on Saturday 16th September from 11am to 4pm. Everyone welcome.

Tollgate Methodist Community are handing out Hot Cross buns on Good Friday at the Tollgate Shopping Centre at 12 noon starting from Hughes and then though Costa Coffee to Argos. Please come along to support them.

Good Friday Walk of Witness and Prayer for Peace following the cross through Colchester town centre. Meet at Essex Street (off Headgate) at 11:45am to walk through the town at 12 noon finishing at Lion Walk.

Good Friday at Mercury Theatre led by Seeking God’s Blessing for Colchester and Cantus Firmus with guest speaker Rev Dr Russ Parker. Friday 14th April at 7:30.pm. Admission free with a retiring offering.

Easter Sunday – Sunrise Communion by the lake behind 78 Robin Crescent – the Tollgate Manse – gather at 5:45am. Followed by bacon butties.

Prayer Requests – Lidia Barris, Gerald Daldry, Barbara Duller, Maud & Frank Faircloth, Emily Grote, Eileen Mitchell and Joan Rouse. Please remember Jeff and Rita Laing and family in your prayers following the death of Jeff’s mother Doris. The funeral will on Monday 20th March at 11:45am at Weeley Crematorium.

Please pray for our Minister Revd Paul Howes and the circuit team ministers Revd Alan Jenkins, Revd Ken Chalmers and Revd Steve Swann and all those who minister to the people of God.

Prayer Walk – whilst there is a standing invitation to anyone to join Steve on his weekly ‘Prayer Walk’ in Colchester West, this is something which has been included in the schedule of ‘Methodist Walks’ for 2017. If you can, please do join Avril and Steve on Wednesday 1st March. Meet at the manse at 78 Robin Crescent at 10.30am. Walking will be on surfaced pathways.

Romance Academy are visiting Colchester on Saturday 25thFebruary at Plume Avenue Church. The event consists of two sessions. An afternoon session called ‘Lets Talk about Sex’ for parents, youth workers, church leaders and educators, followed by an evening session for young people in years 7-13 called ‘Attraction’. The evening session will be a fun and informative session aimed at helping young people build healthy relationships and consider their own choices around the area of relationships.
