NOTICES

Methodist Prayer Handbook 2024/2025 is now available. This contains details of the lectionary readings and prayers for every day of the year. Copies are £4.65 each on a first come first served basis. Please see Alan or Christine if you would like one.

Colchester Methodist Circuit Newsletter – there are some copies of the latest newsletter on the table in the entrance.

Harvest Festival will be celebrated on our next Sunday service – 15th September. We are collecting for the foodbank. They would love to receive bags of pasta or rice, long-life milk or juice, tinned fruit, tinned potatoes and toiletries or anything else you can donate – including money. Thank you to those who have already donated.

Christmas Giving – it has been suggested we give to ‘Link to Hope’ shoebox appeal this year. It is not necessary to fill a shoebox, although it makes it more personal if you can, there is a list of items you can provide for a family or an elderly person. We have some leaflets available and will provide more information soon.

Laurie Berris would like to thank everyone who came to his birthday celebrations last Sunday.

The funeral service for the late Ralph Flutter will be on Tuesday 20th August at 2.30pm at Colchester Crematorium. There will be a wake at The Cricketers in Eight Ash Green from 3.30pm. The family extend their welcome to everyone who would like to join.

Message from Rev Paul Howes – My great thanks to you all for the most generous gift presented to me at the church on 19th May. Wimpole Road 120th Church Anniversary – Sunday 9th June at 11am service led by Rev Hannah Chun. The congregation will be invited to participate in a rededication of the church. There will be refreshments and a display as well as video footage. The church will remain open until 4pm.
