Prayer Requests – Our dear friend May Walters passed away on 23rd October. Her funeral will be at the Crematorium on Thursday 14th November at 11am. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Child. We are collecting for this very important Christian outreach charity again this year. Don’t forget to take a leaflet and shoebox. If you are unable to fill a box please bring in what you can and we have envelopes for money donations as well. Please can these all be brought in by 10th November. Thank you

Communion Steward – from the start of next year we will need someone else to help hand out the bread and wine at our monthly Communion services. Please see Christine or Chrissie if you are able to volunteer. Thank you

Update on Stephen – he is now a resident at The Oaks on Lexden Road, Room 44, where he is receiving 24 hour care and monitoring. Julie went to see him and, although he is walking very slowly, he does remember us all. He would like friends from the church to make short visits occasionally. The best times would be between 11am to 12:30pm or 2:30 to 4pm.

A very warm welcome to you especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us during the week through the Recording Ministry and to Rev Joe Adams who is leading our worship with Holy Communion this morning.

Harvest Festival – we are collecting for the Colchester Food Bank. They need all sorts of tinned and dry food – with a long shelf life please – also cleaning, hygiene and sanitary products. We have envelopes if you would like to donate money instead. Thank you

Harvest Lunch on Sunday 29th September. Please add your name to the list on the notice board.

Methodist Prayer Handbook 2019/2020 is now available priced at £4 each. They are on a first come first served basis. Please take one and leave your money in the box on the bookcase or speak with Christine Beesley.

Colchester’s FREE Family Fun Festival is for everyone to enjoy. In Lower Castle Park on Saturday 14th September from 11am to 4pm. There will be bouncy castles, live music, BBQ, Tiny Tea Tent, Dog Show, Road Train and lots of free activities for adults and children to enjoy.

Songs of Praise at Fingringhoe Methodist Church on Sunday 15th September at 3pm.

West Bergholt Methodist Church Quiz Night on Saturday 21st September at 7pm in the hall. Tables of four at £20. Light Refreshments will be served. You are welcome to bring your own nibbles and soft drinks (sorry no alcohol allowed). Book your table by contacting Judith (01206 241969)
