NOTICES

Maundy Thursday – Rev Chris Preece is leading a service with Holy Communion here at 9:30am on Thursday 6th April. This will be a short service and it would be nice if as many people as possible could attend. We will not be holding a service on Easter Sunday.

Easter Offering envelopes – please can these be returned Sunday 16th April.

Christians in Stanway –
Good Friday Walk of Witness. Meet outside the Princess Charlotte at 12noon. Walk with hymns and drama will proceed to M&S and Sainsbury’s.
Easter Sunrise Service with Holy Communion 6.15am by the Lake off Robin Crescent CO3 8WR, followed by breakfast at St Andrew’s Hall Church Lane.

The Annual Church Meeting will now take place on Wednesday 26th April at 2:15pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Prayer Requests – Please pray for the people in Turkey and Syria affected by the earthquake. May God be with the rescuers and those providing comfort to the injured, the homeless and those grieving the loss of loved ones.
Please pray for the family of David Geary – one of our Tea Club members – who suddenly passed away Tuesday evening.

Chair of District – Rev Dr David Chapman – will be leading worship at Mersea Methodist Church on Sunday 26th February at 9:30am. As we do not have a service here at Lexden on that day it would be nice if as many of us as possible could support Mersea by attending their service. Please see Alan if you would like a lift.

Serving the Present Age – Circuit day on Saturday 4th March between 10am and 3pm at The Ark. There will be a ‘bring and share’ lunch – please take something savoury. Please let us know by 27th February if you will be attending.

The Methodist Ramblers are starting up again after Covid. The first walk will be a 2.5 mile walk on Tuesday 7th February from Castle Methodist Church at 1.30pm to Lexden Methodist Church. Then on Tuesday 7th March there will be a 4.5 mile walk from Lexden Methodist Church at 1.30pm to Castle Methodist Church. More walks will be announced later.

Chair of District – Rev Dr David Chapman – will be leading worship at Mersea Methodist Church on Sunday 26th February at 9:30am. As we do not have a service here at Lexden on that day it would be nice if as many of us as possible could support Mersea by attending their service.

Serving the Present Age – Circuit day on Saturday 4th March between 10am and 3pm at The Ark. This will be a day to ‘springboard’ our thinking and help us to come together, share with one another and begin to think about where we go next as churches and for this to feed into wider Circuit thinking.
