NOTICES

Christmas Giving – many thanks to everyone who donated to Link to Hope. Our gifts and shoeboxes have joined with hundreds of others as they start their journey to the needy.

Action for Children – we have hand made Christmas cards, gift tags and greeting cards available for sale in the Garling Room. All proceeds to Action for Children.

Colchester Circuit Christmas Celebration – Friday January 3rd from 4pm to 7pm at The Ark, Highwoods. Join with friends from across the circuit for food, fellowship and entertainment. Come when you can; leave when you must.
Other circuit events include:
Blue Christmas Service – Sunday 8th December from 3pm at Wivenhoe
Circuit Service – Sunday 29th December from 10.30am at Castle

Garden Wall – work will commence on Monday 2nd December. Please note parking may be limited during the week and we apologise for any inconvenience.

Christmas Giving – it has been suggested we give to ‘Link to Hope’ shoebox appeal this year. Please see the leaflets for more information. It is not necessary to fill a shoebox but it makes it more personal if you can do. Suggested items are gloves, hat or scarf, sweets or chocolates, soap and flannel, toothpaste and toothbrushes, candles/tealights and holders, small games or playing cards, reading glasses, mug, cutlery, hot water bottle, pens and paper. There is a box in the entrance for your contributions. Please can these be brought in by Sunday 3rd November. Thank you.

Paul Howes and family have now left the circuit. We wish them all well for the future and thank them for all they did for Lexden.

The funeral service for Stephen Suthernwood will take place here at Lexden on Monday14th October at 1:30pm led by Rev Paul Howes. Following this there will be a committal service at the crematorium at 2:30pm led by Rev Laura Garnham of Wrabness, the church where Pauline is a church warden. Please keep them all in your prayers.

Church Council Meeting – Wednesday 9th October at 2pm. Please attend if you are able. Copies of the agenda are available.

NOTICES

Our very good friend Stephen Suthernwood sadly passed away last Sunday. Please keep his sister Pauline and the rest of the family in your prayers. Funeral arrangements will be confirmed soon.

Harvest Festival – a very big thank you for your donations. We collected 62.45kg of food and toiletries as well as money which will be sent separately.

The Bridgeway Hub provides support for asylum seekers and they have requested donations of men’s clothing – particularly coats, jackets, anoraks, t-shirts, trousers and socks. These can be delivered to the Bridgeway shop in Priory Walk.

Contemplative Worship – From Brokenness to Beauty. A Circuit Service led by Rev Chris and Rev Hannah today at 6:30pm at The Ark, Highwoods.
