World Mission Fund – you should have been given an envelope for this as you entered and if not please collect one from the bookcase in the entrance vestibule. This is a Methodist Church initiative which supports projects and individuals around the world. Please can you return them next week for the Covenant Service or the following week.

Epiphany Lunch next Saturday – don’t forget to add your name to the list on the notice board if you are coming.

Tea/Coffee Rota – please remember to take your copy. Many thanks to everyone who is willing and able to serve the refreshments after our services.

Operation Christian Child Shoe Box Appeal – many thanks to everyone who contributed to this. We collected 25 boxes and 8 extra money envelopes as well as a bag full of extra items. Thanks also to Avril and Nigel for collecting them.

Beacon House – with the weather getting colder do you have any clothes which would be suitable for the homeless who use Beacon House. They could also make use of toiletries, cleaning products and food. There is a box for your donations in the entrance vestibule.

Prayer Breakfast in support of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) here at Lexden on Saturday 3rd December at 9:30am. Please see the poster on the notice board for more information. If you are unable to join us for breakfast why not come later after 10:00am for tea/coffee and cake. There will also be a ‘bring and buy’. Please come along to support us and keep those planes flying. Please add your name to the list on the notice board if you would like to book a breakfast.

Circuit Service at Wivenhoe on Sunday 30th October at 11:00am will be led by Chair of District Revd David Chapman. During the service Brian Dack will be accepted as a fully accredited Local Preacher. All churches in our circuit have been invited to join in and this means we will not have a service here that Sunday. Transport will be available for those who wish to attend.

Quire presents a selection of songs from their extensive African repertory in aid of the charity Beacon of Hope on Saturday 5th November at 7:30pm at Wivenhoe Congregational Church. See poster on notice board for more information.

Being Myself – Paul Field in Concert at Castle Methodist Church on Saturday 12th November at 7:30pm – doors open 7:00pm. Tickets £5 are available from Revd Alan Jenkins.

Christmas Market at Wimpole Road Methodist Church on Saturday 19th November from 10:00am to 1:30pm. As well as gift stalls and tombola there will be a children’s activity and craft area and Father Christmas will visit.

The Gathering – join Gospel rapper ‘Anon’ at St Stephen’s Church Centre, Canterbury Road on Saturday 26th November from 7pm.

GENERAL NOTICES

Colchester Food Bank have thanked us for our very generous gifts of food which Alan delivered to them following our Harvest Festival last week.

Shoe Boxes – we are collecting for Operation Christian Child again this year. You can wrap a shoe box with Christmas paper or we have some boxes ready-made for you to fill with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, gloves and sweets. Please pick up a leaflet for more information. If you do not feel able to fill a box please bring in what you can and there are envelopes for money contributions.

Methodist Church Colchester Circuit Newsround for Autumn 2016 in now available. Please remember to take a copy home with you.
