Second Week of Lent

A very warm welcome to you, especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to our Worship Leaders who are leading our service this morning.

Please join us in the Garling Room for refreshments after the Service.

Prayer Ministry – if you would like a prayer for yourself or someone else, members of the prayer team will be available at the front of the Church after the morning service.

Recording Ministry – If you do not usually receive a DVD of our services please speak to Stephen Suthernwood or ring him on 01206 540988 to obtain a copy.

PRAYER

Prayer Requests – Ron Bates, Rose and Peter Bobby, Florrie Cronin, Frank Faircloth, Rita Moss, Kim Ogden, Joan Rouse, Richard and May Walters (in a nursing home) and Robin Wilkinson.

Please pray for our Minister Revd Ruth Ridge and all those who minister to the people of God, especially this week for West Bergholt Methodist Church.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

GENERAL NOTICES

A very big thank you to all those involved in organising, cooking and clearing up afterwards at the Valentine Lunch. This was an enjoyable social event and much appreciated by everyone who attended.

Coffee Morning this coming Saturday. Every month we give the profits from our coffee morning to different charities. If there is a specific charity you would like to benefit from this please can you speak with Geoff Wilcox or one of the stewards. Thank you

Harvest Festival a questionnaire will be handed out for your comments.

Offerings for last Sunday: £316.60

Beacon House We will be collecting for Beacon House again during March. All of our offerings have been gratefully received previously. A list of necessities will be displayed in the vestibule.

The Real Easter Egg The only Easter egg that is Fair-Trade and with a charity donation and mentions Jesus is now available at the Co-op in Fiveways.

Future Events

Christ in the Wilderness – a series of five talks at St Leonard’s Lexden as part of the Lent Course 2013. Further details from Rosemary Elden on 01206 515245 or see the poster on the notice board.

Lent Lunches at Wimpole Road on Tuesday 26 February, 12 March and 26 March – commencing at 12:45pm. Lent thought by Revd John Allison.

Daffodil Day – Monday 4th March at 2:00pm at Methodist Central Hall.

Women’s World Day of Prayer – Friday 1st March at 10:15am at Castle Methodist Church. Speaker Revd Catherine Bowstead.

Walking in the Footsteps of the Methodist Preachers on Saturday 9th March. Starting at the War Memorial entrance to the Castle Park at 10:00am.

Quiet Day 13th April. More details to follow.
