General Notices

Ladies Friendly Circle on Monday 9th November is an open meeting so men are invited as well. The guest speaker will be Robin Orbell – Chairman of the Bench, Colchester Magistrates Court – talking about ‘A View from the Bench’.

Beacon House – we will be collecting throughout November. They would love clothing, toiletries and food. There is a box in the vestibule for your donations.

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal – many thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. Last day for boxes and any other contribution will be Sunday 15th November when they will be blessed during the service before starting their journey.

With or without thread just so long as they still have the original label; they are needed by the Touchstone Centre to help raise much needed funds. Samaritan’s Purse have asked that we fill the boxes with a ‘wow’ toy such as a doll or a football. They also recommend other fun toys and games, school supplies like pens and notebooks, hygiene items like soap and toothpaste. Full details are in the leaflets. If you are not able to fill a box you can bring in any of the suggested items and they can still make their way to a child in need. Envelopes are also available for cash donations.

The funeral service for Ann Cousins will take place on Monday 26th October at West Bergholt Methodist Church at 11:30am followed by burial at Marks Tey. A coach is available and will leave from Marks Tey Hotel at 10:45am and return there afterwards for lunch at the hotel.
