LEXDEN METHODIST CHURCH
Notices for Week Commencing 10th October 2021
We have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens,
Jesus the Son of God.– Hebrews 4 v 14
A very warm welcome to you all especially if you are a visitor and we welcome Ron Firmin who is leading our worship this morning.
Prayer Requests – Please add Ros in your prayers.
Please pray for our Circuit Ministers Rev Joe Adams, Rev Ken Chalmers and Rev Alan Jenkins.
Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.
Muriel’s Funeral will take place on Tuesday 12th October here at Lexden at 10:30am followed by the burial at St Albright’s at 11:30am. It was agreed at our Church Council meeting that social distancing for this could be eased so everyone who wishes to attend may do so. Please note masks must still be worn and the doors and windows will remain open throughout.
Sheila has resigned as church steward and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Sheila for all her dedication and hard work over the years. She will be greatly missed. If anyone feels they could take on the duty of a steward please speak with Christine or Alan.
Morning Prayer Time – every Thursday at 9:30am. Please sign-in as you enter and collect a prayer card.
Covid Regulations – You must sign in on arrival or use the QR code. For the safety of visiting preachers, as well as our congregation, we are still following social distancing guidelines and everyone must sanitise their hands and wear a facemask at all times. If we have too many people attending we may have to use the Garling Room as an overflow. Please do not congregate in the entrance or when exiting. Please follow the one-way system and exit by the fire door at the front of the building. We are unable to provide tea and coffee at the moment.
Thank you to everyone who so generously gave to the following causes:
Easter Offering £233.75
Refugee Action £245.00
Food Bank £ 35.00
All the above include Gift Aid Tax to be recovered where appropriate.
Circuit Service on DVD – If you, or anyone you know, would like a copy of the circuit service please speak with Geoff Wilcox or one of the stewards.
If you are visiting us for the first time please add your name to our Visitor’s Book which is on the bookcase in the entrance vestibule. Many thanks.
