First Sunday in Advent

We light the first candle to symbolise our hope, as we
look forward to the coming of Jesus Christ our Lord.

O that you would tear open the heavens and come down. Isaiah 64: 1

We offer you a very warm welcome especially if you are a visitor and to Rev David Moody who is leading worship with us this morning.

PRAYER

Prayer Requests – Please pray for all refugees especially for those lives lost in the English Channel.

Please pray for our Circuit Ministers Rev Joe Adams, Rev Ken Chalmers and Rev Alan Jenkins.

Continue to pray for all others who are in any way troubled, lonely, unwell or bereaved and anyone else who needs our prayers.

NOTICES

Christmas Giving – a very big thank you to everyone who gave to the Christmas gifts for the Queen Victoria Seamen’s Rest. Today is the last day for donations but if you still have anything please see Viv.

Covid Regulations – We will continue with these for the time being and ask that you still sign-in on arrival or use the QR code. For the safety of visiting preachers, as well as our congregation, we are still following social distancing guidelines and everyone must sanitise their hands and wear a facemask at all times. We are unable to provide tea and coffee at the moment.

Festive Quiz at St Stephen’s Church, Canterbury Road on December 4th from 7:30pm.

Abbeygate Concert Band Christmas Concert 8th December at St Stephen’s Church, Canterbury Road 2-4pm. Call 512845 for information.

Morning Prayer Time – every Thursday at 9:30am. Please collect a prayer card as you come in.

Sunday Service on DVD – We are now able to record our own services again – many thanks to Geoff for sorting this out. If you, or anyone you know, would like a copy of the service please speak with Geoff or one of the stewards.
