There is also a selection of ‘bring and buy’ articles with all money raised going to charity. Step Forward – It is four years since the Colchester Methodist Circuit pioneered the Christian Discipleship course entitled ‘Step Forward’ as a way of helping Christians study the Bible and share the meaning of their faith together in a small group. Those who followed the course at the time have spoken of its value to them on their Christian journey and two members of that group, Charlie Connor and Sue Wood, have now indicated their willingness to lead the course and, having completed the training programme, they are offering to run the course at Castle Church at 6.30pm on Wednesday evenings beginning on May 22nd but you are still welcome to join. Pentecost Family Festival and picnic at West Mersea at 4:00pm this afternoon. There will be a celebration service and an ‘open the book’ drama. Also kite making and sandcastle building. All the events will take place on the putting green near the beach end of Empress Avenue in West Mersea. Bring your own picnic and a groundsheet or something to sit on.

Please note that there is no free parking, even on a Sunday.

Wet weather plan will be in Mersea Methodist Church premises in Mill Road.

Through Faith Missions are coming to Colchester 10-18th May 2014.To prepare for this Churches Together in West Colchester are planning a "Prayer Walk’ on Saturday 4th May at 10am. The idea is to pray for the area of West Colchester, to bless its people and prepare the way for the mission a year before it actually happens. We will meet at Plume Avenue Church at 10am (they have ample parking) and we will prayer walk around the area and then return to pick up cars at 12 noon.

Outreach you are invited to attend a meeting here at Lexden on Thursday 9th May at 7:30pm to discuss how we can Reach Out. Everyone Welcome.

A very warm welcome to you, especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to Betty Rampling who is leading our worship this morning.

Please join us for refreshments in the Garling Room after the Service.

Prayer Ministry – if you would like a prayer for yourself or someone else, members of the prayer team will be available at the front of the Church after the morning service.

GENERAL NOTICES

Quiet Day ‘Encounters’ at Fingringhoe Methodist Church on Saturday 13th – 10:00am to 3:00pm. This has been arranged by Revd Ruth Ridge with the help of Alan Beesley. It will be a wonderful opportunity to share reflective moments in peaceful surroundings. Hot drinks and soup will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch. Please speak with one of the stewards if you would like a lift.

Light a Candle Service is on Thursday 11th April from 7:00pm. This is an opportunity to remember loved ones. This is the first time this type of service has been held here at Lexden and everyone who has previously attended them at West Bergholt has commented on how much they benefited from them.

Benevolence Fund: £4.00

Easter Offering Envelopes please return them by next Sunday. The money raised is used to support the work of 65 partner Churches overseas.
