Charity Christmas Cards – this year the ‘Cards for Good Causes’ shop is in Lion Walk URC as Colchester Library is closed for renovation. The shop is open 10am-4pm each day and as usual there is a wide range of charities represented amongst the stock of cards and other Christmas items.’

Church Invitation – We have been delivering invitations to all houses within an area bordered by Straight Road, Heath Road, Church Lane and Lexden/London Road, including Spring Lane and Lexden Park. A copy of this letter is on the notice board in the foyer. This is a ‘trial run’ and may be extended after an evaluation of the outcomes.

Beacon House – we will be collecting for Beacon House throughout November and there will be a box in the entrance vestibule for your donations of clothing, toiletries etc. Remember gifts of money are also welcome and there are envelopes available.

Justice Sunday

INTROIT – ‘When the Morning Gilds the Skies’ H&P 276 v 1

A very warm welcome to you, especially if you are a visitor or will be joining us through the Recording Ministry and to our Worship Leaders who are leading our service this morning with the help of Alex Beesley-Hardes.

Please join us for refreshments in the Garling Room after the Service.

There is no Songs of Praise this evening.

Prayer Ministry – if you would like a prayer for yourself or someone else, members of the prayer team will be available at the front of the Church after the morning service.

Recording Ministry – If you do not usually receive a DVD of our services please speak to Stephen Suthernwood or ring him on 01206 540988 to obtain a copy.

Prayer Requests – Rose & Peter Bobby, Charles & Florrie Cronin, Brian – the son of Cicely Kentish-Sawyer (now out of hospital), Kim & Ruth Ogden, Pam Redding, Joan Rouse, Richard & May Walters and Robin Wilkinson.

Please pray for our Minister Revd Ruth Ridge and all those who minister to the people of God, especially this week for Wimpole Road Methodist Church.

Advance Notice – the Church car park will be closed between Monday 16th and Friday 20th September while our neighbour at the back has his trees cut down. For events during the week we can use the car park at Praiseway.

Future Events

Harvest Festival will be on Sunday 29th September. As in previous years we will be collecting food and money for the Colchester Food Bank. Please only bring non-perishable food with a long shelf life. There will be a box in the entrance vestibule and your donations will form part of our Harvest display. Envelopes for cash donations will also be available.

Light a Candle Service – a service for all who have lost loved ones. Thursday 7th November at 7:30pm at West Bergholt Methodist Church.
