Message from Geoff – It is obviously going to be some time before the Lexden Church premises can be opened for Worship and know what level of precautions will need to be taken even then. I would like to thank those people who have let me have the equivalent of their weekly Collection donation in the meantime. However, if anyone wishes me to “relieve” them of the growing quantity of collection envelopes or cash please do not hesitate to contact me (545083) and I can make appropriate arrangements to pick them up. Thank you. Geoff

If you need prayer or help in any way please contact your pastoral visitor or you can call Rev Joe Adams on 331413

We’ll Meet Again

We were all saddened by the death of Dame Vera Lynn during the week and her most famous song still seems appropriate in these troubling times. When you have a quiet moment why not sing these words to lift your spirits.

We’ll meet again. Don’t know where. Don’t know when.
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.
Keep smiling through. Just like you always do.
‘Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away.

So will you please say hello to the folks that I know
Tell them I won’t be long. They’ll be happy to know
That as you saw me go I was singing this song

We’ll meet again. Don’t know where. Don’t know when.
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.

We’ll meet again. Don’t know where. Don’t know when.
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.

Keep smiling through just like you always do
‘Til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away
So will you please say hello to the folks that I know
Tell them it won’t be long they’ll be happy to know
That as you saw me go I was singing this song.

We’ll meet again. Don’t know where. Don’t know when.
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day.

Update on Stephen – he is now in the Felixstowe Methodist Home. He is doing well and is well cared for but please keep him in your prayers.

Note from Geoff – Treasurer
It now appears more than likely that the lockdown could continue into June. Even if the Government were to look at easing the current restrictions earlier I’m not sure that Church services could recommence without ensuring that rigorous self- distancing advice was strictly observed.
I’m aware that many of you may be diligently dealing with the weekly collection envelopes or putting aside your weekly cash donation. I suggest that you may need to hold on to them until we can resume services.
However, in the meantime, if it is possible to safely get them to me I can process them, but please no coins and only cheques if you have signed up to Gift Aid.
Looking forward to the Time when we can meet again. With best wishes and please keep safe. – Geoff 01206 545083

On there you will find talks from our Ministers and a new service each Sunday.

Are you clapping for the NHS and all other support workers on a Thursday evening? This is a wonderful way to check your neighbours are OK without breaking social distancing rules. We are also being encouraged to open our windows on Tuesday morning (21st April) at 9am and sing Happy Birthday to the Queen. This is not just for the Queen but to remember anyone else who has a birthday that day but can’t celebrate with friends and family.
