Those of us who attended the Passover Meal on Maundy Thursday would like to thank those who organised it. An enjoyable and thought provoking evening.

There is a card from Chris Nash on the notice board sending us Easter blessings.

Easter Offering envelopes – if you didn’t collect one last week please do so today. Please can these be returned over the next two weeks. Don’t forget to complete the Gift Aid declaration if you are a tax payer.

The first Coffee Morning with Bring and Buy of the year will be held on Saturday 7th April 10:00 to 11:30am. We are collecting for Age Concern Colchester.

Lent Course 2018 on Friday afternoons here at Lexden at 2:30pm. Due to the snow part 6 ‘Keeping Going’ will now be held on Friday 13th April.

Colchester Borough and Parish Elections on Thursday 3rd May will see our church being used as a Polling Station. Although Morning Prayer will be held as usual there will not be any Time for Tots on this day.

Circuit Contemporary Service – ‘Light Overcomes Darkness’ a service of worship this afternoon at 4:30pm at Castle Methodist Church presented by the Cantus Firmus Colchester Choir and The Salvation Army Songsters and ‘Chara Gospel’ Choir. There will be a retiring offering towards expenses.

Time for Prayer on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:30am at the Oak Tree Coffee House – just behind Highwoods Tesco. The next one will be on Tuesday 27th February. This is an initiative proposed by the Rt Rev’d Roger Morris, Bishop of Colchester, because a lot of exiting things happen when Christians get together and pray. There will be a short time of worship and a brief reflection on Scripture as well.

Women’s World Day of Prayer at St Mary’s Church West Bergholt on Friday 2nd March – 12:30pm for soup and snack lunch followed by service at 1:30pm. Please see the poster on the notice board for more information.

Lent Course 2018 on Friday afternoons here at Lexden at 2:30pm starting on 16th February. ‘Lost for Words’ – sharing faith naturally. Why is it that so many of us feel hesitant and uncomfortable when everyday life brings opportunities to talk about our faith with friends and a host of other contacts? Lost for Words offers a practical, approach to helping people ‘find their voice’ and speak confidently and naturally about their faith. Everyone is welcome to join us. ‘Light Overcomes Darkness’ a service of worship on Sunday 25th February at 4:30pm at Castle Methodist Church presented by the Cantus Firmus Colchester Choir and The Salvation Army Songsters and ‘Chara Gospel’ Choir. There will be a retiring offering towards expenses.

Time for Prayer on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:30am at the Oak Tree Coffee House – just behind Highwoods Tesco. The next one will be on Tuesday 27th February. This is an initiative proposed by the Rt Rev’d Roger Morris, Bishop of Colchester, because a lot of exiting things happen when Christians get together and pray. There will be a short time of worship and a brief reflection on Scripture as well.
