Can you see the hero in Jesus? – At the Mercury Theatre on Good Friday 18th April at 7:30pm – presented by the Churches in the South of Colchester. Admission is free and there will be a retiring offertory.

Good Friday – there will be a March of Witness through the town centre led by the Salvation Army. This is open to everyone! Please assemble at the Salvation Army Citadel in Butt Road at 11.45am ready to move off at 12 noon. The march will finish at the War Memorial outside the Castle. The Methodist Church is consulting on whether to revise its stance on marriage in view of the new gay marriage law. Currently, it believes that marriage is between one man and one woman but a change could result in Methodist churches holding same-sex weddings. There is an online consultation and this will close at 9am on Monday 10th February. If you wish to complete the survey go to methodistchurch.org.uk. You will need to read the FAQs before filling out the survey.
